Barriers to access, participation, and opportunity are a reality for marginalized groups , such as immigrant, diverse communities, and women and girls. This has the potential to limit their dreams and ambitions and how they can contribute to society.
With determination, we fund organizations tackling systemic inequality of immigrants, women and girls, artists and much more, through community engagement, democratic action, and advocacy initiatives.
These are some of the organizations working to level the playing field for a series of marginalized groups. We’re proud to support them.
Canadian Olympic Foundation
The Canadian Olympic Foundation is where the power of sport, our national pride, and the impact of philanthropy intersect to make Olympic Dreams become a reality. As the official charitable organization of Team Canada and the Canadian Olympic Committee, we aim to inspire Canadians to believe in their own potential, through sport and Olympic values. In 2023, Moez and Marissa established a $1-million “Level the Playing Field Fund” dedicated to programs across the country that aim to eliminate barriers to sport for marginalized and immigrant communities.
Toronto Public Library Foundation
A registered charity that raises funds to support the exemplary collections, ground-breaking programs and services, and the innovative community spaces at the world’s busiest public library system; Toronto Public Library. With a focus on children and immigrant communities, in 2023, the Moez and Marissa Kassam Foundation became Lead Supporters of Toronto Public Library’s Feeding Young Minds initiative.
South Asian Legal Clinic of Ontario (SALCO)
Legal services pertaining to loss of employment, evictions, and denial of health services as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and other reasons.
Together We Stand Foundation
Donations go towards Operation Care Package, which provides direct assistance to Canadian military families, Operation Military Family Appreciation Day, and other various initiatives aimed at celebrating and supporting military families.
